Holy fuck guys we’re not "pushing hard" for or replacing concept artists with AI.
We have a team of 72 artists of which 23 are concept artists and we are hiring more. The art they create is original and I’m very proud of what they do.
I was asked explicitly about concept art and our use of Gen AI. I answered that we use it to explore things. I didn’t say we use it to develop concept art. The artists do that. And they are indeed world class artists.
We use AI tools to explore references, just like we use google and art books. At the very early ideation stages we use it as a rough outline for composition which we replace with original concept art. There is no comparison.
I talked about how we use ML here if you would like to know more:

We've hired creatives for their talent, not for their ability to do what a machine suggests, but they can experiment with these tools to make their lives easier.
Thirty-three days ago, we released Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Since then, we’ve sold 3.3 million copies.
Seriously. As of today.
We couldn’t make that up.
Another entry on the long list of surreal moments that your support has made real. Thank you ALL.
Tomorrow comes.🤝
@RazerStore@Razer I never did actually receive this :( even after inquiring multiple times months after. Kinda sucks to have these competitions but not follow through on making sure the prizes get to the winners.
We thank you for your patience. Congratulations @lois_Starkey for winning the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro (Faker Edition) Mouse. Please DM us your Name, RazerID, Address and Contact Number so we can send the prize to you.
Nicks dying of cancer soon. Hospice is coming in the next hour. His son’s last request of him was to see if he could get @VancityReynolds and @RealHughJackman to see this picture of them. Thanks for retweets, hug your family.
Remedy fans! With the release of The Lake House today it marks the end of an almost 6-year journey working on Alan Wake 2. Wow, does time fly. Back at the end of 2018 when I had a call with @SamLakeRMD to discuss the possibility of coming back to Remedy to work on Alan Wake 2, I already knew there and then, that there was the potential to build something amazing and I’m really really proud of the game that we eventually released.
Thank you to our brilliant publisher @EpicPublishing for their unwavering support through these past few years; we would never have been able to develop the Alan Wake 2 that we envisaged without their trust and expertise. Thank you to everyone at @remedygames for supporting the Alan Wake 2 development team, through both the good and difficult times. Thank you to the amazing Alan Wake 2 team for building an astonishing game, with love, care and passion – the game is only as good as the team who builds it! Finally, thank YOU, all the players who have played and supported Alan Wake 2 over the past year. The amount of amazing fan art, crazy story theories, fan fiction, trailers, memes and everything in between has been such a joy to witness.
It’s been a crazy rollercoaster and I’m both happy and sad that it is now finished. But, there is always something new to get excited about, so maybe I’ll just do that.
Thank you!
why stop at alan wake movies and tv. lets make alan wake trilogy. alan wake cinematic universe. alan wake theme park. alan wake world. alan wake universe. alan wake multiverse.
This one made me genuinely happy to see. So many people try antagonise gamers against devs but we all want the same things. Great games.
All the factors that led to the layoffs are hard for us to control. Covid. Tech bubble. Economy at large.
Some would say boycott AAA, but that won’t help, it will potentially make things worse. I dislike @Grummz trying to get people to do this.
I don’t like people taking action out of hate or ignorance. So here’s some ways to positively support devs! Just because we can’t control the industry at large doesn’t mean you can’t influence developers in truly meaningful ways.
🤩 Buy the games you’re interested in, don’t let people online influence you. Give more games an honest chance, even AAA.
🤩Speak out in support of devs who make the games you love. We need more positive developer spotlighting.
🤩 Support indies, buy and try new games and experiences from lots of different independent devs. Even if people lose their job stability in larger studios it would be great to see more land on their feet in indie instead of them leaving the industry altogether.
🤩share and promote creators, wether game artists, coders, musicians etc. share their work, follow them, give them visibility that might help them find more work.
Add more!
Let’s make this a thread about support 👌
@TheCartelDel I think that’s why I really loved Saga in Alan Wake 2, her actress and character model were both beautiful and soft in a way I hadn’t seen for a while in games.
