GRATEFUL to the Leadership of Kenyatta University, for inviting me to engage with their faculty and students during their 2024 annual debate on “national values and principles of governance”. It’s crucial for those of us in policy making positions to have regular discussions with members of the academia, who have plenty of useful ideas, that can transform our society.

I also appreciate the board and management of BMA for their dedication to improving access to maritime education and training in Kenya . Present were: the Governor of Mombasa @A_S_Nassir ; my colleague @PS_Betsy_Njagi(Blue Economy); Hamisi Mwaguya (Chair KMA) ; Dr Eric Katana (CEO BMA); Abdalla Hatimy (MD KNSL) ; area MPs , Speaker of Mombasa; MCAs among others.
