Hey everyone! If you are planning on visiting our beautiful valley this weekend, please be advised of the following closures. https://t.co/CvpUqLnP7d๐ง
Quartz is one of the most beautiful crystals. Rose, Smokey, Amethyst, Citrine, white, and clear; this depends on what trace minerals are present as the quartz is forming.

Ammonites are some of my favorite fossils. I love to be able to see the different sections of the snails and how the outer shell looks. An ammonite fossil is more than 1000 years old.

The purple variety of Quartz, Amethyst ranges from light to dark purple. The crystals tend to grow geodes or clusters and some are lucky to have a 2nd generation of growth creating an amethyst cactus quartz. Here are some specimens that we carry!

Obsidian is a volcanic stone. Most people are familiar with the pure black version. There are also a few other varieties. Mahogany Obsidian gets its brownish red color from Hematite or Magnetite inclusions. Snowflake Obsidian is black with white patches called Phenocryst.
Agate is a common rock that consists of primarily chalcedony and quartz. The striations can be many different colors and different variations of transparency. These slabs of natural agate are absolutely gorgeous.

ROCK OF THE MONTH! Cactus #Quartz is a special variety of quartz crystals. They are 1 generation of crystals that are encrusted by a 2nd generation of crystals. Also referred to as 'spirit quarts' or 'pineapple quartz'. Absolutely beautiful!
