AI can make cool character art, but getting it game-ready is the real bottleneck. I’m building a tiny 64x64 sprite prep tool so I can turn messy AI outputs into consistent game assets.

I haven’t posted much since the F9 break, but Waifu Grove is still moving.
Current lesson: pretty AI art ≠ usable game asset.
We’re turning PC into a real 64x64 top-down walking character, and the hard part isn’t quality ; it’s consistent, readable, and animation-ready.
Game dev reality check 😅
Added a reset-progress key to Waifu Grove so I could test from a clean save.
Pressed F9… and broke the game again.
Good reminder: the feature isn’t done when Codex says it’s done. It’s done when it survives manual testing.

Small loop first. No crafting yet. No scope creep.

Mira’s Forest Grove now has Forage Focus: interact once to start timing, stop it for a material reward, then gift the best bloom to Mira for affection.
Tiny scope. Tested loop. Real progress.

Built a small AI-assisted game prototype in Godot.
Loop: walk → collect → talk → gift → unlock → save
Hit real dev bugs:
walking on water
wrong project path
textures overriding
sprite scaling/facing
Added visuals + audio and now it feels like a tiny game.

Added custom characters today and immediately hit classic dev bugs:
- sprite too small
- facing the wrong direction 😅
Still a win. It finally feels like a real game. #ai
First Waifu Grove playtest went smoother than expected.
Movement works, the core loop works, and the game is playable.
Also found the first classic game-dev bug: I can walk straight across the water ponds.
Not a disaster. Just the next tiny polish pass.

Starting a tiny Godot waifu RPG prototype.
Keeping the scope intentionally small:
- one character
- one map
- one collectible loop
- one unlockable art reward
The goal is not a huge game yet. The goal is proving I can build a pretty playable loop with AI/Codex support.
Got a lot stacked up today.
Work, orders, customer messages, a laptop setup tonight, and I still need to lock in Friday’s stream.
Trying not to treat all of it like one giant problem.
Today’s job is simple:
handle the non-negotiables, reduce friction, and make tomorrow easier.
