So I was watching a Thinknoodes video about the Roblox safety update, and he lowkey brought up a great point.
With Roblox Kids accounts, which are for 5-8 year olds, they can be controlled by a parent account which has face verified (not even ID verified) as an adult. That parent account can be linked to a non-verified account, and then, the parent account can change the age of the non-verified account to as little as FIVE YEARS OLD, as well as enable chat and permit the account to join any game on the platform.
I strongly believe that the safety update in general will be incredible for the platform and keep kids much safer, but this loophole needs to be fixed as soon as possible. A good fix would be to make any parent accounts require ID verification instead of just face estimation, so that Roblox can easily identify bad actors who are abusing this system. Also, I donβt think parents should be able to change the birthday of a non-verified account, because while it does make sense, it also has a HUGE potential to be misused.
We'll be publishing a hotfix later today that includes more things being turned off with the "Reduced Epilepsy" setting, as well as disclaimers appearing when trying to select certain modifiers.
I get the strangest feeling that there will be a modifier where every angler is replaced with pandemonium because why else would this gorgeous art possibly exist
