It was exactly 5:30 AM when the loud sound of the security man’s whistle woke the entire street. Then came the shouting: "Thief! Thief! Hold am!"
Within minutes, neighbors rushed out with heavy sticks and flashlights. They found a young guy running towards the fence of Compound No. 5.

In the dark and confusion, everybody assumed he was the one who had been jumping fences. Before he could even utter a single word to explain himself, the angry crowd dragged him, they didn't even bother confirming from the residents of the house!

By 7:00 AM this morning, the real drama began...The crowd stripped him completely naked so he couldn't run away. They smeared black engine oil all over his body and made him hold a stolen car battery they found on the floor nearby. One of the street boys found an old frying pan, beating it with a stone while forcing the crying, shivering boy to walk slowly down the dusty street for the ultimate walk of shame.

Mothers stood by their shops shaking their heads, shouting, "Look at your life! You want to reap where you did not sow!"
The boy kept crying, screaming through his tears, "It’s not me! I swear it's not me! I was just coming back from vigil!"...But nobody listened. In the heat of the moment, everyone just wanted justice...The parade finally reached the main junction at 7:30 AM. But just as someone raised a heavy stick to hit him again, a loud commotion broke out back at Compound No. 5.
"Hold him! He is inside the ceiling!" a voice screamed!.......
