“The government fostered corruption and failed to diversify... So, the entire government resigned”
The idea of stepping down due to corruption is so foreign here that our leaders probably think "resignation" is a word in a different language. 🤦♂️🇸🇸 #SouthSudan
🚨❤️🩹 Aymeric Laporte: “I regretted leaving because I was at the best club in the world, Man City”.
“The way they take care of players is unique; you only realise it when you leave”, told AS.
@itsmayenoffical It’s not a joke when you’re watching it happen in real life. I’m currently watching someone lose their senses to this exact cycle. So many people out here mistake drug abuse for a sign of ‘living big,' but it always ends in tears, always.
@choljoey 15+ years in power and the advice to citizens is to chew herbs? No hospitals built, no real health system, just years of living off NGOs. Now that they’re leaving, this is the solution? It’s embarrassing and deeply disappointing for a country that’s been independent this long.
@DavidSt47596050@rich_toronto@chrisjackson193 In Saudi, foreigners are usually temporary workers and remain guests under strict local laws. In the UK, many migrants settle permanently and become citizens. That’s not the same situation, so it’s not a fair comparison.
@kezmanjose@Cholatak With the way things are going, even if that happened, he would just revoke the decree the next morning, like many others that were cancelled before the appointees even took the oath.
@NgorMabor@akech_andrew Not really, any road can last much longer if it’s well maintained. But without regular care, even the best-built highway will wear out fast. Maintenance makes all the difference.
@MTN MoMo keeps asking us to stay active, yet their shops have no cash. People queue for hours with nothing. In this tough economic environment, this service is far from being a life saver, I gave up on it.
@EyeRadioJuba As the saying goes, the devil is in the details. The real test will not be in the launch speeches, but in the daily discipline of implementation.
@akech_andrew Most of those cars were originally bought by the government and ended up with individuals who don’t really know their true value. Some also came from Sudan during the RSF crisis, and many are older models just upgraded to look new. Don’t be fooled by the facelift.
@EyeRadioJuba This situation is deeply disappointing. The government could have resolved the Vivacell issue through dialogue instead of costly legal battles. Now $50 million that could have supported healthcare, education, or infrastructure is lost due to poor decision-making.
