@the_mel_jar I think about this all the time! Many a substance dependent patient of mine, have expressed genuine fear of losing their creative fuel and inspiration.
@foodaddiction4u Great topic. Many addictions/dependencies (process & substance) have binge purge cycles. You may want to look into Patrick Carnesโ book about sexual anorexia, where he discusses the binge-purge cycle in multiple different dimensions of addiction.
@thesoberheathen Right on. Perhaps not the best classification of varying levels of dependency. However, weโre currently in a place where clinicians refuse to recognize that there are varying levels of dependency and not all treatment must be viewed as reduction of harm vs complete abstinence.
