@basedbinkie Last time a player wanted a Drow PC, I warned them about how drpw were perceived in the world and that reactions wouldn't be good. They were shocked when everyone ran away screaming.
They thought I was playing and decided to fight the guards. They had to roll a new character.

@TimothyImholt @CinderAedus Creativity is key, but the game doesn't encourage it anymore. Everything is aggressively balanced, all the edges sanded down and all the actually transgressions stuff sanitised. It's sad.

Alas, the game has had essentially all of it's edges sanded off now. Like almost all fantasy these days the heroic aspect is almost completely gone, replaced with a desperate therapised toxic empathy.

I've just learned that last year marked the 30th anniversary of one of the most beloved and formative books of my youth: All the Weyrs of Pern by the legendary Anne McCaffrey.
Her work is frequently considered problematic in these strange days, but it was fundamental to me.
