As a former Ambassador to the USA & an advisor to Rockwood Public Affairs, I was happy to provide @morningireland with a commentary on yesterday’s meeting at the White House. Overall, I thought @MichealMartinTD acquitted himself well, pushing back astutely on a couple of occasions. That’s the most that can realistically be achieved in the Oval Office these days. The Taoiseach’s performance was akin to a level par round of golf on a difficult course with lots of hazards.

Saddened to hear of the passing of Dolores Keane. I knew her during my time as a Senator - sharp, warm and a brilliant performer. A legend of Irish music. I’ll always treasure singing Caledonia with her at my general election launch in 2016. RIP.
