🏀 @GracieMerkle put on a show at the inaugural WBCA State Farm Showcase last week. Merkle averaged 20 points and 11 rebounds in two games in Orlando to help @PennStateWBB to a 7-0 start on the season, marking only the fifth time in school history the Lady Lions have started a season with seven consecutive wins. Penn State is also one of just 43 teams that remain undefeated through week three of the basketball season as of Saturday, Nov. 23. The 6’6 center led the Lady Lions to two wins at the tournament using back-to-back double-doubles. Against Marshall, Merkle scored a season high 28 points and posted 11 boards to notch her third double-double of the season. Despite early foul trouble in Penn State’s contest against Georgia in the second game of the showcase, the Kentucky native still managed 12 points and 12 rebounds, marking her 23rd double-double of her career and fourth at PSU in seven games. The only Lady Lion to score in double figures in all of the team’s games, ranks first in the nation in field goals (58), third in double-doubles (4), fourth in total points (138),  seventh in blocks (17) and tenth in rebounds (65), leading the conference in all categories with the exception of total rebounds, ranking second.

🏀 @yeah_ace3 was masterful yet again, finishing with 25 points, 11 assists, seven rebounds and two steals to lead @PennStateMBB to a 102-89 win over Horizon League preseason favorite Purdue Fort Wayne Wednesday night. He tallied 15 points and nine assists in the second half alone, including a personal 10-0 run in a span of 1:30 to start the second half and help Penn State erase a 6-point halftime deficit. The Nittany Lions have now scored 100+ points in 3 games this season, matching the program record for 100+ games in a single season through just five games. Penn State has scored 85+ points in all five of its games thus far, marking the first time in program history that the Nittany Lions have scored 80+ in five-consecutive games.
