A daily podcast covering all things Colorado #Rockies, hosted by @paulholden33. Part of the Locked On Podcast Network. Matt Holliday touched home plate.
#Rockies Hunter Goodman has 17 home runs through the first 66 games of the season.
On a pace for 42 homers, Goodman could become the first Colorado player to reach 40 since Nolan Arenado in 2019.
Up next: the Chicago Cubs whose pitchers have surrendered the most dingers in MLB.
#Rockies Kyle Freeland just set franchise record for most innings pitched: 1,312 2/3. He passes Aaron Cook.
Congrats to a class act and Colorado native.
FINAL: Brewers 7, Rockies 1
Jacob Misiorowski threw the fastest pitch by a starter in the pitch-tracking era (103.7 mph).
He threw more pitches at 101 mph+ (45) than anyone in any single game since tracking began in 2008.
HR: Turang (2), Contreras, Bauers and Hamilton.
Brewers’ Jacob Misiorowski, who set a Statcast Era (2008) record for fastest pitch thrown by a starter at 103.7 mph earlier in the night, hits Rockies’ Tyler Freeman in the head (helmet).
Freeman stays on his feet but exits the game.
The pitch, a cutter, came in at 98.2 mph.
This did not age well...
Senzatela blew the save in the ninth and was charged with three earned runs - he had given up five earned runs all season entering the day.
Hunter Goodman adds a solo home run for his 16th of the year, putting him on pace for 41 homers.
Goodman also becomes the first #Rockies catcher to steal a base and homer in the same game twice.
Don't look now, but that steal by #Rockies Hunter Goodman gives him five.
Since the year 2000, only five backstops (60% of games at catcher) in the NL have reached 10 stolen bases in a season.
J.T. Realmuto, 3x
Yadier Molina
Russell Martin, 4x
Jason Kendall, 4x
Ivan Rodríguez
FYI, MLB scoring decision takes homer away from #Rockies TJ Rumfield on ball that bounced off the head of Angels Jo Adell. The right fielder was given a four-base error.
Bummer for Rumfield.
The Colorado Rockies announced today the following transactions:
-Placed RHP Tanner Gordon on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 2 (right hip impingement).
-Recalled RHP Zach Agnos from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Some bittersweet personal news. I’m leaving The Denver Post, having taken the company buyout. My last game is June 24. Too many people to thank here. I’ll miss so many, but especially @harding_at_mlb. The Adventures of Bonnie and Peaches will continue. Thanks! #Rockies
