The triangle of no one wanting to take responsibility to assess a child is still happening GP refer to CAMHS - CAMHS refer to school - school refer to GP 😑 #SEND#ADHD#ASD#dyslexia@CNWLImprovement
Its now emerged that #Channel4 tried to ward off privatisation with proposals to train up 100,000 young people in neglected areas around the UK, a further £2bn in programmes from the Nations & Regions and ramped up recruitment in Glasgow, Bristol and Leeds. 1/2
’Homes for Ukrainians’ government scheme first hand from a friend:
Helping a family (3 female adults, a 16 year old girl, 2 dogs) from Kiev to your home in the UK.
World-beating ineptitude so far.
@ElizMizon@Channel4 Exactly this! Channel 4 is so unique in broadcasting that selling it off on the premise of competing with commercial ventures is completely anti-cultural. Be like selling off the British Museum to compete against Alton Towers.
All this is to say: C4 is a *crucial* part of the UK's public media landscape.
The Tories' desire to privatise is purely ideological, as ever. Strips it of its challenging position, rakes some cash, and neutralises its newsroom. /12
Every channel turned down It’s A Sin. Every channel except Channel 4. A privatised Channel 4 would also have turned it down. It costs the taxpayer nothing and yet is owned by the public.
Channel 4 is publicly owned, not publicly funded. It doesn't cost the tax payer a penny. It also, by charter, commissions content but doesn't make/own its own. It's one of the reasons we have such a thriving indy sector in places like Glasgow. This is the opposite of levelling up
@chrisandmarkuk No diesel when I stopped on the way home. There’s been issues at the ports the last few days due to shortage of staff, I wondered if it was because of that?
@RetirementTales My Tadcu, who started teaching in 1945, always carried a pen knife and we were amazed every time he used it to sharpen a pencil to a perfect point, far quicker than a sharpener.
