रवीन्द्र कौशिक एक ऐसा नाम,जो शायद किताबों में नहीं पर इतिहास के सीने में दर्ज है।
राजस्थान की तपती रेत से उठने वाला ये नौजवान अभिनय का दीवाना था। उसके हावभाव, बोलने का अंदाज़ और किरदार में उतर जाने की काबिलियत ने रॉ (RAW) की नज़रें खींच लीं।

लेकिन 1983 में किस्मत ने करवट बदली। एक अन्य भारतीय जासूस पकड़ा गया, जिसने रवीन्द्र की असल पहचान उजागर कर दी।

रवीन्द्र 18 साल तक पाकिस्तान की जेल की काल कोठरी में रहा उस पर अत्याचार हुए यातनाएँ दी गईं पर उसकी जुबान से भारत के खिलाफ एक शब्द न निकला। वो टूटा पर झुका नहीं।
