@ZazoBoergoats Spot on! To add on, good pastures are profitable just for producers more than livestock farmers are making. Saw an advert of a hay bale 15kg @$3 each. Yes, dry hay bale!
I would argue that given the significant cost of feed, a livestock farmer should invest in knowledge and infrastructure on pasture production and veld management. As livestock farmers we are in the business of converting grass and pastures to meat.
@ZazoBoergoats For some reasons, I like my “Boer buck” to be a complete brown headed like that on the left. I tend to overshadow all other features that expected of a good buck so long it’s head is brown. God help me!
@ZazoBoergoats Happy new year my farmer, mentor, friend, brother. Wish you a successful year ahead. Tapinda, tapinda, isingenele, we’re in, tangena, hola hola 👋
Farming is not for the faint hearted… my palisade fencing on the Northern side of the farm was completely submerged in flood water. That is a whole 1.5m palisade fence. Some panels have been swept off. Thankful for the rain but it sometimes comes with challenges!
@ZazoBoergoats I am one of your big follower! I always look up to your post daily. You inspire us so much with some great insights that you bring up. Keep it up
