The Gann Fire grew overnight to 2,100 acres as of Tuesday morning after erupting Monday evening in Calaveras County under hot, windy conditions.

The fire started around 5:30 p.m. just south of Hogan Lake. It remains 0% contained, and mandatory evacuation orders are in effect.

The cause is under investigation.

California: The Gann Fire is burning near New Hogan Lake in Calaveras county, and actively burned through the night. The fire remains active this morning and is estimated at 1,800 acres.

The fire has been pushing south towards the old Walker Fire burn scar. Night capable helicopters have been active all night dropping water. Dozens of crews and engines, plus dozers have been ordered and on scene. Thanks to the subscriber who shared these views of the fire from his sister’s house.
