@Cherokeewilly@TrystinFrmCntrl@Lunaneko14@FreedmenCulture Many indigenous peoples are not proud to be called Indian and do “dwell” on it as it has persistently been used as an derogatory word, takes away from their peoples actual name, etc. To be aware of the historical/present harm of a word towards a populace is not a “black” thing.
@covie_93 With “uncle” Bill in the background looking around for the candy he knows they momma(Michelle Obama) has on hand for him. He loves him some Mrs. Obama.
Yesterday the Hardrock casino in Fort Lauderdale Florida draped itself in the Juneteenth flag. For those who aren’t aware the hardrock is owned by Seminole Indians.
Michelle and I loved reading to this bright group of kids today!
We hope this new Chicago Public Library branch at the Obama Presidential Center will be a place where folks come to read, check out books, and connect with one another for years to come.
There's a TV show in Japan
that has run for over 30 years.
The premise: a parent sends
their two or three-year-old child
on an errand. Alone.
To the store. To buy tofu.
Across actual streets.
A camera crew follows secretly,
hidden, never helping,
as a tiny human in a backpack
completes a task most countries
wouldn't let a child attempt.
The kid cries. The kid forgets.
The kid gets distracted by a dog.
And then the kid comes home,
holding the tofu, glowing.
It's the most-watched thing
of its kind in the country.
Americans who discover it
cannot believe it's legal.
In Japan, we cannot believe
it's remarkable.
Ladies, if you feel stupid for falling for his charm... remember Henry VIII chased Anne Boleyn for 7 years, defied the church to marry her... and still had her beheaded.
She's dying. He's dying. They meet at the hospital. He has one year. She has months. Then he dies first. But his heart goes to her. Her new heart beats to the memory of a boy she knew for 12 weeks. This is a real movie. Japan made it. Haruma Miura played him. I’m not okay. 🫀
