Women's health tech is less likely to get funding if it has a woman on its founding team, according to research reported by @guardian.

Women leading femtech companies, which include period monitoring and fertility apps, got an average of 23% less funding compared with similar male-founded companies. They were also less likely to get investment if they used phrases like “women’s rights” and “take control” in their pitches. Yet male founders got benefits when they used the exact same words. 🤔

Dr Brittany Barreto, from Femhealth Insights which backed the research, said it proved “that even when it comes to women’s bodies, investors trust men more than women to get the job done.”
