I like this take, and I agree with him. After I came out as a lesbian, I decided I did not want to live my life in the gay getto, lesbian is just one small part of who I am. All the pride thing got old quite a while ago.
I'm gay as hell. Always have been. I love a man, and I'm happy about it.
But I have zero to do with the rainbow flags, corporate pride months, "queer" ideology, drag queen story hours, or turning sexual orientation into a 24/7 political cult.
Being gay is just who I'm attracted to. It's not my personality, my religion, or my job. I don't need safe spaces, parades, or to rewrite language and biology. I just want to live my life like a normal adult.
The loud activist scene doesn't speak for me — or most gay men I know. We're over it.
Keep your propaganda. I'll keep my sanity.
Whoever decided that saying “leave the kids alone” is somehow homophobic or transphobic should have their hard drives swept immediately, as well as be yeeted from society for the harm they are causing us as gays and lesbians that absolutely believe kids should be left alone.
You do not speak for us. We are not a monolith. Stop using us a shield to attack and groom children.
