This major initiative has involved training other IAPS heads to become ILM L7 trained coaches. 96 of them so far.

In a survey in 2019, IAPS school leaders showed that they wanted coaching support in their roles. Coaching was the thing they were keenest on. Leaders will have had plenty of training, shadowing, and mentoring. And yet, their recognition was that coaching serves leaders best.

A decision was made by IAPS to create a large cohort of qualified internal coaches within their schools. They chose coaching as the preferred approach, as they could see the potential for growth, change and autonomy.
