"so dark souls 2 wasn't directed by miyazaki and its not really connected to ds1 or ds3, and while I think it's a good game, it's not a good souls game"
"that's not true. what the fuck are you talking about? ds2 references ds1, ds3 references ds2, and it's an amazing souls game"
@CodeRed_dev Yeah. I always see comments towards gamedevs saying “you should add this feature” not realizing it would take months of work to add it.
Also the dismissiveness of games with lower fidelity graphics get handwaved away as something not worth their time. Thankfully that’s going away
@theogramme_dev I cant write stories-my own game is evidence of that. But it would have to be an addictive but punishing game. The wins would feel earned and the grind would be long. But it would all be in an immersive world with deep lore. But the lore has to be secretive. You have to look for it
We licensed Don't Fear the Reaper to use in Prey for $10k back in 2006. Nowadays that same song would cost $150k. We tried to license songs for recent games in the past 2-4 years and the prices are insane now, so we had to pass. These music license companies seem to think all game studios have Hollywood film sized budgets.
Our new game Machine Party is a collection of violent party games for 2-4 players, that all have lethal consequences. Releasing late this summer.
Run across minefields, assemble firearms, smoke cigs as fast as possible, dodge trains, eat peas, and try to survive!
