If you haven't listened to Cornell '77 yet, today is the day ⚡
For his second pick in Vol. 4 of 'A Beginner's Guide to the Grateful Dead Live,' @ChrisBenchetler shares a moving story about how "Fire on the Mountain" (Cornell, 5/8/77) reminds him of the late, great Bill Walton, a dearly loved member of the Dead community who opened so many doors to the music. Listen and share what the song brings to mind for you in the comments. https://t.co/ArQb41DYOv
@heraldleader Our experience with Dr. Jackson's dental practice was unpleasant and led to delays in propper care for my child. This was not improved by his attitude or demeanor and his behavior with my child was not acceptable.
@InhaledThePoint@declatom@plthomasEdD Only the teachers can fix it. They have the kids. Fault is irrelevant. Poverty is not ignorance. Its poverty. Poor people think and love and work and read and write.
@InhaledThePoint@declatom@plthomasEdD I don't care. An eight year old needs 10 hours of sleep. It takes one to get her to bed. Book? Talk? ,One to bathe and feed her supper. After school care ends at 5:30. Mom leaves work early to make it, its 25 minutes to drive home. 8:00 PM. Alarm at 5:30... Kid at school at 7:30
@InhaledThePoint@declatom@plthomasEdD I think teachers are, as a whole, completely to blame for the attack on parents that will eventually destroy them. Its 2026. Our whole economy is the result of 5 generations, 6? of free compusory public education. Own the poverty. It is the curriculum.
@declatom@InhaledThePoint@plthomasEdD The state of our world is the result of the work of teachers who are charged with carrying forth our cultural values. They have clearly displayed a work for less than you are worth movement and produced the most incarcerated generation of youth ever. Proud of that?
I don't care if it's military spending or welfare spending. Spending is spending, and we cannot keep adding to the debt. Tax cuts? I'm in. More spending disguised as a win? I'll vote no. Washington has a spending addiction, and I'm not feeding it. @MariaBartiromo
Assassination jokes are not funny, but they can be used to justify attacks on anyone the presidency does not enjoy.
We wish the president a long and happy life and pray for his joyful celebration of good and peaceful acts of kindness.
@InhaledThePoint@plthomasEdD The arguement arguement of parent poverty from teachers who can't even advocate for a living wage in the field is just... sad.
You want to address poverty, teach teachers to lead by example.
Or, you know, teach them... anything?
@InhaledThePoint@plthomasEdD More parent blaming which might be an argument for UBI, but doesn't say that. Shitty teacher in a reading specialist master's program marked my kid as developing with letter knowledge the same year his WISC score put him at 3rd grade proficiency. Read to your kid. Test well.
@InhaledThePoint@plthomasEdD The kids you are looking at spend more than 100% of their waking hours in school, after school programs and have since infancy. Warehousing kids in mass care may promote illiteracy, but if parents work 40-60 hours a week, they are dressing kids in their sleep to drop them off.
