We recently had the grand opening of our sustainable charcoal factory. Shukri Bandaare, Somaliland's environmental minister (in green), gave an impassioned speech about the importance of using charcoal from Prosopis/Garanwaa. We are very excited for the future!
Hargeisa is having a sad day. Wahen market was Somaliland's largest market. We propose forming a fact-finding committee to assess the magnitude of the loss. I call on all Somalis in the Horn to rally behind Hargeisa and provide support. Hargeisa is wailing.
Saddened to see the aftermath of the fire in Hargeisa with such destruction in the open market that is the economic heart of the city, affecting many small and family enterprises.
Your city will rise again and the UK will do what we can to support Somaliland’s rebuilding effort.
Saddened to see Hargeisa burning and the lose of businesses and livelihood’s. The fire destroyed the heart of the city but rest assure we will rebuild again and it will thrive. #Hargeisa#Somaliland#HargeisaMarketFire
Please help us raise enough money so we can continue helping the rural communities in Somaliland and give them employment so they can earn a livelihood during these difficult times @whh_HoA@gofundme@NBerlangaEU@UNDPSomalia@EU_in_Somalia

Agro‐pastoralists are the most affected, as P. juliflora quickly invade their land, causing prohibited grazing and farming activities. Effective tree management is needed to overcome this threat in Somaliland. #forest#environment#Zerohunger
@cookswelljikos Thanks for your comment.
We haven’t looked at those as we are fairly new in this line of business. Learning everyday. We are currently involved in Turning Prosopis pods into animal feed, fertiliser and charcoal. What do you do with Prosopis?
Young people who have lived the major part of their lives in Germany have come back to #Hargeysa to help their country grow. They brought skills, enthusiasm and optimism. Very inspiring!!
