U.S. CLOSES AI CHIP EXPORT LOOPHOLE
The Commerce Department moved to halt potential shipments of advanced $NVDA and $AMD AI chips to Chinese subsidiaries located outside China.
New guidance requires export licenses for entities headquartered in China, regardless of physical location.
The impacted chips include Nvidia Blackwell/Rubin and AMD MI350x, while existing data centers can keep using and servicing chips they already own.
