Caroline Sharpe (LHS 1997) put on an incredible recital to celebrate #Carillon100. One of the pieces performed was called 'Silent Chimes' which was composed by Pip Greasley (LGS 1965) 🔔
Following today’s Thanksgiving service, musical act Embers Duo are now performing just outside the Carillon Tower.
Information stalls are still open and you can still visit the Carillon Tower and take in the fantastic views of Loughborough from the very top of the tower.
Here's a fascinating history of @LboroGrammar alumnus Wilfred Moss, the Loughborough Mayor who had the idea to bulid the Carillon Tower 100 years ago, written by @LboroGrammar archivist John Weitzel 🧾🏛

We're looking forward to attending 100 Years of the Carillon Tower today!
Did you know the idea to build the Tower came from Wilfred Moss CBE who was Mayor and attended @LboroGrammar?
And his younger brother Charles Moss helped to build it! 🏛
Today marks 100 years since Loughborough’s Carillon Tower officially opened.
An event is being held in Queen’s Park in Loughborough. A special recital is being performed at 1pm before a Thanksgiving Service at 2pm.
We are looking forward to marking the centenary of Loughborough's Carillon Tower tomorrow.
☂️The weather forecast doesn't look the best but the event will still take place so grab your waterproof, an umbrella & make your way down to Queen's Park to mark this momentous occasion.
@CharnwoodBC We're looking forward to attending! Did you know the idea to build the Tower came from Wilfred Moss who attended @LboroGrammar and left in 1886? And his brother Charles helped to build it!
