We were talking about software defined warfare back in February 2025 - it will be interesting to watch as the DoD and with it wide parts of the industry will rebrand defense to warfare: https://t.co/xnA4KCxf41
This is a fantastic and much needed initiative led by @LSH, pulling together allies to address failing in the resilience of supply chain, energy and political stability as well as accelerate our defence capabilities. Follow @resilience_conf or visit https://t.co/7R9Xi0ZNZh
It's been nearly two months since I was laid off from TechCrunch. A lot has happened! I connected with a lot of old friends, made new friends, had a lengthy hospital stay, and found some new projects.
I'm thrilled to announce one of the new projects: The Resilience Conference.

I teamed up with an all-time great TechCruncher, Leslie Hitchcock, to put on this conference aimed at the defense and security sector, specifically in Europe.
The world is teetering on a knife's edge, and global conflict is stressing the need for innovation that pushes traditional security and defense into the now.
As always, startups are leading this shift, but there's a sizable disconnect between EU defense industries and startups. The Resilience Conference is the only innovation conference focussed on resilience, defense, and security, bringing together startups and investors with academia, government, and the military. I want to stress this is not a defense or arms conference; this is a startup conference in the same vein as TechCrunch Disrupt.
This event will take place this fall at a historic venue in London.
There's so much more I wish I could share, but due to the nature of the participants, I have to keep some highlights for private conversations.
Want to get involved? We're looking for exhibitors, sponsors, and just a couple more speakers. Hit me up on LinkedIn, and let's talk.
So sad to hear this news. Richard Stone, who played a fundamental role as part of the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry was an outspoken advocate for the disadvantaged, and a passionate anti-racist campaigner. He will be much missed.

Richard Stone -my first mentor in politics. Gave me precious advice when I was 16 years old growing up near his house in Hampstead. Championed me endlessly to be his MP. A real feminist, a race equality activist with conviction. We will never forget you. https://t.co/K8MCuPvmim
After taking a stroll down memory lane, I decided to write up some of my favorite times at TechCrunch. I rarely spoke publicly about most of my experiences running the events business but there are some great stories to share, so I had fun writing them up.
