#Telangana: #Hyderabad: #BJP BLA files pre-printed Form 7 applications to delete 30 members of Muslim family from rolls in Musheerabad, Congress complains to CEO
The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Thursday, 1 October, wrote to Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharshan Reddy, alleging that a BJP booth-level agent (BLA) in Hyderabad's Musheerabad constituency filed Form 7 applications seeking removal of about 30 members of a Muslim family from the electoral rolls.
In the complaint, Pulipati Rajesh Kumar, chairman of the party's Election Commission Coordination Committee, and member Mohd Wajid Hussain named S Balachander, also known as Balu, the BJP BLA for Polling Booth No. 210. The applications reportedly target Congress BLA Shafiuddin and his family.
Form 7 is used to object to a voter's inclusion in the roll or to seek deletion of an entry. The party said that this raises several questions about who supplied the forms and the voter details in them, and whether the persons shown as applicants knew about the filings or consented to them.
The party noted that under Election Commission norms, the person seeking deletion must substantiate the reason. A knowingly false declaration is punishable under Section 31 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950.
The letter also alleged that several pre-printed Form-7 applications have been circulated widely against Congress leaders, their families, party voters, and supporters in connection with SIR-related processes. The party alleged these may have been routed through party channels and local BLAs to booth-level officers. The party said it was not asking the Commission to presume the allegations true, but only to establish the facts.
The Congress sought an independent enquiry, preservation of the original forms, and individual statements from the named applicants to verify if they had submitted the forms. It also asked for a forensic examination of the forms to check for a common source, and a wider probe across Musheerabad and other constituencies across Telangana.
The party demanded identification of the forms' origin and whether any person, organisation, or political party was responsible. It also asked for further examination to establish if the BLO Balachander personally submitted them.
The letter demands assurance from the CEO that no genuine voter is deleted without verification, notice and a chance to respond. It further demanded legal and criminal action against Balachander and anyone else found responsible, along with a written report on the action taken. The party said it is ready to hand over copies of the disputed forms and other evidence.
Is the algorithm solely behind flagging voters without statutory oversight in #TelanganaSIR?
With over a quarter of electors in the latest draft rolls receiving notices over anomalies and mapping issues in Telangana, Activist @SQMasood has approached the High Court, seeking directions against notices generated by the ERONET software and the publicising of its functioning.

Hearings and data from Moula Ali, a diverse suburb of #Secunderabad City, expose the many flaws in #TelanganaSIR in the form of mapping issues, missing documents, language barriers, and abnormally high deletion and anomaly percentages.

Beyond Hyderabad’s core constituencies, voters from neighbourhoods far from the city centre are also facing major difficulties with the ongoing #SIR process.

Minister D Sridhar Babu said that after the draft bill was opened for public feedback in July, the government evaluated 4,107 public representations and incorporated 70 changes before introducing it in the Assembly on 12 September.
But a comparison of the Act’s latest version with the July draft shows only a few major changes, while several controversial proposals criticised by activists, civil society, and RWAs remain untouched.

A student suicide should trigger discussion around mental health, better support system in universities, better education etc. But all I see is barely concealed casteism, victim blaming, STEM is brutal etc. Empathy is dead.
17 September is remembered differently by different communities. For some, it marks Hyderabad’s integration with India; for others, it remains a day of mourning for the thousands who died during and after Operation Polo.
It cannot be reduced to a “Liberation Day” slogan while ignoring the human cost. The Sundarlal Committee documented large-scale killings in Hyderabad State.
Remember the dead. Remember every victim, irrespective of religion. Remember the truth.

Twenty days after a fatal Aston Martin crash involving Janasena MP Lingamaneni Ramesh's son, Sanjush, killed 26-year-old Bharati Mukhi, Cyberabad Police are yet to file a chargesheet.
While the police attribute the delay to the pending FSL report, questions linger about the proceedings, drawing parallels to other high profile cases.
