Our Reader Response novel for term 4 is Nim’s Island by Wendy Orr. Primary 2 are loving this story of adventure and discovery. They are learning how to survive on a desert island and enjoyed making ‘Nim’s spyglass’ as part of expressive Arts. @stcatherinespsy

Health week has been fantastic so far. In between our other learning, Primary 2 took part in Dodgeball, cheered on P4 and P5 in a basketball tournament and finished off the day with an ice lolly! @stcatherinespsy

Primary 2 had a wonderful school trip to @finlaystonepark
They enjoyed interacting with the animals and learning about animal life on the park. Big smiles all round. 🐑🐥🐰🐎

Primary 2 have had great fun learning a new French song which included all the most common French phrases.

Today we said goodbye to one of our classmates. Primary two will miss him dearly. We celebrated his efforts with a dance party.

Today Primary 2 were learning how to collect data. They used tally marks to search the school playground for a variety of colours. It was also lovely to be out in the fresh air ☀️#exploringnumber @stcatherinespsy

As part of our food and farming topic, Primary 2 enjoyed tasting a variety of farm grown vegetables. They were able to compare texture and taste and discuss the differences between each food. #compareandcontrast #foodandfarming @stcatherinespsy

Primary 2 took part in some drama to support our @Talk4Writing newspaper report. They thoroughly enjoyed playing a range of different characters and interviewing each other. 🎭@stcatherinespsy

Outdoor learning today was focused on literacy skills. Children used a range of outdoor materials to enhance their spelling and grammar 🌳🍁⛅️ @stcatherinespsy

Primary 2 are loving Expressive Arts Dance and have been getting in the spirit with partner dancing.

Primary 2 were very excited to receive a visit from Helen and Magnus from @dogstrust. They learned all about the ‘happy dog rules’ and how to stay safe around dogs 🐾🦴🐶 @dogstrust @stcatherinespsy

Primary 2 had a cracking Christmas party yesterday and even had a visit from Santa!🎅 They showed off their best dance moves and joined in with some fun Christmas games 🎉🎁

Today our choir enjoyed visiting the residents of Kyle Court and singing a medley of different Christmas songs and Carols. Thank you to @LSzalecki and her fabulous choir for all their hard work and Mrs McLaughlin for introducing us to the lovely people of Kyle Court. 😇🌟🤩🌟😇
