@Sofia50020Sofia I'm what world do you live in where tipping around 40% is normal? A good and attentive server should get a tip around 20% maybe 22% if they were exceptional.
@lady_valor_07 Well, 20% of 500 is 100. 20% I have always considered as a medium tip for a restaurant. If they were particularly attentive to your party maybe 25%. So $40 is a bit cheap in my opinion. That's basically an 8% tip.
@JoshLilj1@gofundme I have the same issue, disabled, in a wheel chair, on disability and am going to be out of a place to live at the end of May. Everything is hard out there right now. I know I don't want to be homeless.
@Sadie_NC Most likely no. If you can't pay your servers it's not my job to compensate for your lack of business sense. A tip is the customer thanking the server for being attentive, helpful and going above and beyond. It is called a gratuity for a reason.
@LittleAlphaPup The world and life are very good at putting you in those situations. How you respond to them and the decisions that you make though sometimes difficult do a lot to show your character. The best you can do is the best you can do.
@SocialNomadRach Your math is wrong. An average tip for a good server who was attentive to drinks, asked about your meal and was pleasant to be served by is 20%. That is multiplying the total by .2 Your formula is closer to 40% that is excessive.
