Embassy of Lithuania to Poland

[Gitanas Nausėda @GitanasNauseda]

A warm meeting with Polish President @NawrockiKn. The main topic – resilience of our countries and societies.

Both 🇱🇹 and 🇵🇱 face hybrid attacks, cyber attacks, sabotage and disinformation campaigns. Repeated airspace violations and interference with global satellite navigation signals are becoming a new reality.

🇱🇹 & 🇵🇱 must remain vigilant and resilient. We focus on protecting critical infrastructure, urgently finding effective solutions to counter UAVs, and strengthening air defence.

[Gitanas Nausėda @GitanasNauseda]

Today in Warsaw, together with Polish President @NawrockiKn, we commemorate the 235th anniversary of the Mutual Pledge of the Two Nations.

Adopted on 20 October 1791, this act supplemented the Constitution of 3 May by explicitly establishing the parity of the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania within the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth.

Back then, we were united by a shared commitment to preserve our statehood. Today 🇱🇹&🇵🇱 continue working together to build a secure, resilient and united Europe!

A great meeting in #Warsaw with Polish President @NawrockiKn 🇱🇹🇵🇱
The more close friends we have, the stronger and safer we are.
We agreed that Russia’s escalating hybrid attacks against the West only reinforce the crucial need to expand the strategic partnership between #Poland and #Lithuania.
When we stand together, our voice is heard far louder.
Europe must take greater responsibility for its own security—and doing so only strengthens #NATO and transatlantic security as a whole.
The security of our region is in our hands.

[Mindaugas Sinkevičius @mindaugassink]

A hugely meaningful meeting with @donaldtusk! 🇱🇹🇵🇱
Lithuania and Poland share deep, irreplaceable security, economic and cultural interests. It comes as no surprise, as we are bound by centuries of shared history.
Russia was, is and will remain a long-term threat. NATO must adapt and respond to modern air threats.
#Lithuania and #Poland stand firmly united: in the new EU budget Eastern Flank countries must be properly compensated for securing our continent. We stand on the front lines, protecting not only our own borders, but the very edge of the #EU and #NATO.
There is nothing more powerful or reassuring than having strong, fearless and reliable friends by our side!

[Kęstutis Budrys @BudrysKestutis]

#EU enlargement is not a bureaucratic exercise. It is a strategic security project.

At @WarsawForum discussion panel “Half-Baked or Step-by-Step? Rethinking EU Enlargement” Europe talks about security. Enlargement is how we deliver it.

#Ukraine is already strengthening Europe’s security. The strongest armed forces in Europe belong closer to our structures, not farther away. The Enlargement momentum is now- stop blocking and open negotiating chapters. Move forward.

🇱🇹🇪🇺 100 Days to Go.
Lithuania’s warm-up for the #EU Council Presidency begins today.
Just as we build endurance, find our pace, and unite our team before a marathon, today we begin preparing for a responsibility that will require leadership, focus, and teamwork.

In 100 days, #Lithuania will step onto the European starting line - bringing countries together, fostering dialogue, and working towards solutions that strengthen Europe as a whole.

This journey begins now. Together, let us build trust, strengthen our unity, and work hand in hand toward a shared goal: a strong, secure, and resilient Europe.

Today we honor the memory of the victims of the #Holocaust in Lithuania.

September 23 marks one of the darkest chapters in Lithuania's history – the liquidation of the Vilnius Ghetto in 1943. During the three years of Nazi occupation, more than 190,000 Jews were murdered by the Nazi regime and its local collaborators. Fewer than 12,000 survived the Holocaust.

The Holocaust did not begin with bullets. It began with prejudice, hatred and fear. Indifference nurtured it into persecution, violence, and mass murder.

Today, we remember our compatriots and neighbours – the entire communities that were destroyed. We honour their memory and reaffirm our commitment to combating antisemitism, preserving historical truth, and defending human dignity.

Baltic Unity Day reminds us that our security is strongest when we are united.

Bound by shared values and a common purpose, we stand shoulder to shoulder with our Allies – today and for the future.

[Kęstutis Budrys @BudrysKestutis]

A drone that violated Lithuania’s airspace tonight was swiftly shot down by #NATO fighter jets.

Sincere thanks to our Allies, whose presence helps protect our skies and strengthens our security. This is best example of Allied unity and resolve in action - sending a clear message that NATO stands vigilant, committed, and ready.

russia targets strikes on the Ukrainian publishing sector and, effectively, written Ukrainian culture and heritage.
This is why russia must not be allowed to creep back into international cultural life before it stops waging its war. russia weaponises culture for destruction.

[Gitanas Nausėda @GitanasNauseda]

I am in close touch with @bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz. I have assured him that Lithuania stands in full solidarity with its strategic partner Germany after the Russian hybrid attack in Leipzig.

The strong measures taken by the German government show: Hybrid action against any one of us will be met with a clear response. Anyone who attacks us will pay a price.

Our commitment to supporting Ukraine in its defense against Russia’s aggression is unshakeable. We will continue our support for as long as it takes to achieve a just and lasting peace.

[Kęstutis Budrys @BudrysKestutis]

#Lithuania stands in full solidarity with #Germany.

The Leipzig incident is another reckless Russian attempt to test our resolve through hostile actions across Europe. We cannot treat these incidents in isolation. They form part of a broader campaign aimed at undermining our security and cohesion.

Fully in line with the responsive measures of the German authorities, malign actions have consequences. We remain united with our Allies and partners in increasing pressure on Russia and in maintaining steadfast support for #Ukraine.

🇱🇹 It’s Freedom Day! On this day in 1993, the last soldier of the Soviet Red Army left #Lithuania.

For many nations, World War II ended in 1945. For Lithuania, the final chapter of Soviet occupation closed only on this day, when the boots of the occupying army left our soil.

Today, as authoritarian regimes once again seek to redraw borders, erase nations, and challenge the rules-based international order, the lesson remains clear: peace cannot rest on illusions, and freedom cannot be taken for granted or survive without resolve.

Lithuania stands where it always should: free and committed to a safer, stronger, and more resilient #Europe. We celebrate freedom every day by living in a free and democratic country!

[Lithuania MFA 🇱🇹 | #StandWithUkraine @LithuaniaMFA]

33 years ago, the last Russian military units left Lithuanian territory. Despite the complex nature of the process, Lithuania succeeded in ensuring the withdrawal of Russian troops stationed on 🇱🇹 territory. This diplomatic victory was the final step in ensuring 🇱🇹 independence.

[Kęstutis Budrys @BudrysKestutis]

🇱🇹🇺🇦 My warmest greetings to my good friend, 🇺🇦 Foreign Minister @andrii_sybiha, and to all the people of #Ukraine on your Independence Day!

Thirty-five years ago, Ukraine chose freedom, independence, and its own future. Today, Ukrainians defend that choice with extraordinary courage and an unbreakable spirit.

Holding the defence line against Russias imperialist aggression, Ukraine has become a protective shield for Europe. Every day, as you repel the aggressor’s attacks, you defend the freedom and security of Europe, as well as the right of every nation to determine its own future.

We must never take this for granted. Helping Ukraine defend its freedom through military, humanitarian, and financial support is more than an act of solidarity; it is our responsibility to the Ukrainian people, who are fighting for our shared future: a Europe free from terror, imperialism, and fear.

#Lithuania firmly stands, and will always stand, with Ukraine until victory and beyond, supporting its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and path to the EU and NATO.

Celebrating this special day together with Ukraine, the 🇱🇹Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Lithuanian diplomats joined a civic initiative to weave camouflage nets for Ukraine’s defenders, helping to protect those courageously fighting on the front line for freedom and peace.

Happy Independence Day, Ukraine!
Слава Україні!

[Mindaugas Sinkevičius @mindaugassink]

Heartfelt congratulations to the Ukrainian people 🇺🇦 on Independence Day. We admire the courage, dignity & resolve with which you defend your freedom & future. You have Lithuania’s unwavering support. We will stand with you and by you, today, tomorrow & until justice prevails. 🇱🇹 🇺🇦
