A few minutes ago, I asked the Senate Secretary to draft a writ setting the Special Election to fill the vacant 37th Senate District seat for April 2, 2019. Counties will be served the writ on Monday.
Acting Secretary of State Robert Torres joined @PAAgriculture, @LTGovStack, Jimmy Daku, Peter Longstreth, and others at the Albanian Independence Day Ceremony today in the Capitol.
Albanian Independence Day today at the Capitol. Thanks to @PAAgriculture@PAStateDept and @bijteeshqipes and all my friends from Philly for coming out to help celebrate.
Congrats to @ChuckGrassley and @SenatorDurbin for the bipartisan work on the First Step Act. With @realDonaldTrump support it could be a milestone in justice reform and an important example for Pennsylvania and the nation.
Thank you my feisty friend. Nobody works harder for her constituents. Always impressed on my trips to the Lehigh Valley about your deep knowledge of your community...hope to return soon.
@LtGovStack you are going to be missed, for sure! Heed the advice you have told me for years...keep going & never give up! Thank you for your support, friendship, & leadership. I wish nothing but the best for you in your future endeavors. https://t.co/D2GDGO5tmE
Great partners make great work. Thanks to @Penn@VietLEAD and the Governor's Advisory Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs for their work at #aapitownhall and Pathways to Pardons today.
Many thanks to @CedarCliffColts Jr. ROTC for their service today at the @WidenerLawCW Veterans Day Ceremony. It's been an honor to work with @WidenerVets and my Veterans Task Force members to help former soldiers facing challenges.
Pennsylvania keeps moving forward. @GovernorTomWolf and @JohnFetterman will keep us on the path. Pennsylvania will be a fairer place. Honored to work on the transition. There is still much work to do.
We had great partners at Penn State and in the borough. It was inspiring to see so many young curious minds interested in sensible justice reform and second chances. Thank you for attending.
@LtGovStack & @scott_conklin hosting a Pathways to Pardons event in State College. Ryan Yoder, @CorrectionsPA Statewide Veterans Coordinator discussed the importance of assisting veterans in their reentry after incarceration.
In these strange times for international diplomacy, still plenty of pros out there keeping this world and enduring partnerships together. Proud to stand with the Philadelphia Consular Corps for peace and international cooperation.
Sgt.1st Class Deon Nalley-Stoddard, who led a group of citizens in lifting a car off a trapped pedestrian, visited the Capitol today with Lt. Col. Christopher Duncan. This example of leadership during a crisis has been an inspiration up and down the command chain.
In the world of sport, where @RepSidKavulich excelled as a reporter, a great athlete makes teammates great. In politics, a person of humility humbles them.
That was Sid. RIP my friend.
I’m teaming up with @LtGovStack to host our 2nd Pathways to Pardons event. This program is free, open to the public and designed to inform constituents of the pardons process with time for questions and discussion. Join us next Thurs. Oct. 18th #PathwaysToPardons ⬇️
