I dag har Kustbevakningen med hjälp av nationella insatsstyrkan och i samverkan med berörda myndigheter bordat ett misstänkt falskflaggat lastfartyg på svenskt vatten.

Fartyget finns på Ukrainas sanktionslista, ägarstrukturen är oklar och det finns misstanke om att försäkringar saknas. Så sent som i somras ska fartyget ha bytt från rysk till guineansk flagga.

Myndighetens utredning får utvisa om fartyget i fråga uppfyller de utställda kraven för att navigera i våra farvatten. Ett agerande mot fartyg i svenska vatten vilar på myndigheternas självständiga rättsliga bedömning. Mot bakgrund av den stora utmaningen som skuggflottan utgör ser regeringen att en aktiv motverkanspolitik är nödvändig.
