Is giving an influencer equity in your app actually the play?
They get ownership, they have a reason to keep posting, more posts, more users, more revenue, their equity becomes more valuable.
Feels like a win win if structured right.
My take on building in public
It only makes sense if your target users are actually on the platform you’re building in public on.
It makes sense if you’re building a social app or marketplace or sum like that.
But if your Building a baseball app and documenting everything on X + Instagram?
Probably one of the dumbest things you can do.
You’re showing your entire playbook to competitors and that’s gonna result in so many copycats, people trying to get your app banned, people leaving 1 star reviews and so much other shit.
Build in public strategically, not just because everyone tells you to.
Learn from me plz
Need some options on this.
I have a potential opportunity to build a sport themed game app for a pretty big influencer.
I can either take money upfront, build the app, hand it over, and be done.
Or take equity in the app and stay involved long term with development and growth.
What would you do?
