This is one of those common sense things that often gets overlooked, parents don’t need to be experts on the subjects, but just being engaged makes a massive difference.
There are 35 teaching weeks in the school year. And they slip away quickly. I take one marble out and carry it in my pocket for the week to remind myself to not waste it. Good luck to all the teachers out there, and try not to lose your marbles! #Education#Teaching#Teachers
Getting ready to pass out copies of our staff’s summer read. Every summer we read a book as a staff that speaks to our theme of the year. This year’s theme is about connecting with students which helps improve both academic performance and behaviour. #Education#Leadership#ACSI
Recently met a school leader. I suggested consistent procedures & clear directions so expectations were not ambiguous.
He said: “I’m just not sure it’s the job of adults to be telling young people what to do.”
If that’s you, there’s a good chance you have the wrong job.
South Carolina schools will go phone free, throughout the day!
Red states, blue states.... everyone wants kids to pay attention to their teachers and to other students. Most people see that phones interfere with education and social connection.

@mdhiggs It’s a fun event to walk the streets during and I’m sure some of the folks are “big gets” for Fredericton, but I feel like the people who pay for passes are
1- Music nerds
2- Outside drinking enthusiasts
3- People who like to talk about going to Harvest J&B at the office.
@mdhiggs They snuck you up from a basic to a plus membership. They used to only have two levels now they have 3 and apparently they auto populate you in the “mid tier” which is $120 plus tax. Sneaky sneaky.

@mdhiggs If you ask the municipalities about bringing back real garbage trucks, like Hanwell they get pretty defensive, although to be fair our homemade garbage trucks do have back doors. I guess we sprung for the basic plus package.
“But are you wearing socks?”
Our standard follow up question to the kids “I’m ready” for school statement. (success rate is currently hovering around around 50%) #Parenting
@tom_deelstra@todbol Great read! It was recommended by Dr. Pue at a conference this Fall and we use his book on Christian Ed, Rethinking Sustainability as our playbook for a lot of things, so I knew it had to be good.
