במהלך תקופתו הוביל יונתן, אוהד הפועל עוד מימי מלחה, את המועדון לרגעי שיא, ביניהם זכייה בגביע המדינה בעונת 2023/24 וכן הגעה לגמר גביע המדינה ולסדרת גמר הפלייאוף בעונה שלאחר מכן. לאורך כל תקופתו על הקווים התמודד יונתן עם אתגרים יוצאי דופן מחוץ לפרקט, והוביל את הקבוצה בתקופות מורכבות.
