My favorite Christmas Carol is Come All Ye Faithful. It captures the religious nature of the upcoming holiday, hits the right emotional note - searching, uplifting - forces contemplation on the year just past.

I like this German version (Herbei O Ihr Gläubigen). It’s like opera - doesn’t matter if you don’t understand the words, though it’s a straight translation from the Latin like the English. I will post the full carol in the next post - our German friends end by singing the third verse in Latin, which is also nice.
