@The_HCPC I’ve called 70+ times in the last few days; made it to number 3 in the queue, always get cut off. Checking on the status on an application made 3 weeks ago - will delay me starting my job. Can you offer any help please?
A friend of mine is recruiting 18-25 year old students for her research on the impact of COVID-19 on students. If you are 18-25 and currently in education she'd really appreciate you taking part! Please share!

Mirrored in Psychology training and practice - I've heard so many comments that perpetuate stigma and assume mental health professionals are immune from distress - highlights the importance of work by @In2gr8mh and @OnlyUsCampaign among others!
A reminder about the @PscLeeds meeting next week. Hayley has done a fab job of setting up the group in the middle of a pandemic. Would be great to see people there & keep the momentum going. [email protected] to sign up to the mailing list
The DCP has made a statement publicly recognising and supporting the unique and valued contribution that lived experience of mental health difficulties brings to individuals working within clinical psychology - read it at https://t.co/rreU0DLT6a
@chinchinar Lake District (north/west is my fave, much quieter, less tourists, better value for money), Yorkshire Dales (grassington, malham, Richmond), Wales (I love the south west coast it Brecon Beacons). Enjoy your break!
Great to attend @PscLeeds tonight. Interesting to think about different social issues we’re passionate about as psychologists and how we can encourage all voices to be heard, not just the powerful ones!
NHS-E and NHS-I are offering a series of free, culturally diverse, virtual staff common rooms, which can be attended anonymously. Each “room” lasts for 1 hour, and is intended to provide a way of coming together for informal support. Please see the below for more info & contacts
I saw this headline and it made my heart sink. I’m spending a lot of my time talking to people about loneliness right now for my thesis interviews. A pill to “turn off” those feelings isn’t the answer
The beauty of getting a doctorate degree in psychology is that you have so many options of what you can do. You have options as you construct & build your career.
Therapy is what people assume we do but therapy is only a fraction of what you are able to do as a psychologist.
At the @BPSOfficial annual conference this pm @DrAngelChater gave a comprehensive overview of the mind-boggling amount of work that has been happening within the Behavioural Science & Disease Prevention workstream of the BPS Covid-19 response. 👏👏

It appears as though the NHS student nurses who bravely stepped up, 6 months before graduating, to help staff the pandemic have now been hung out to dry.
Surely their contracts haven’t been cancelled? Clarification needed ASAP please, @NHSEmployers@MattHancock @NHS_HealthEdEng
