The Hindi audience dint know Prabhas before Bahubali , they dint know Rishab before Kantara , I dint know Brando before Godfather..Maybe he was a star before in his films A street car named desire , on the water front etc ..I don’t know if they released in india also .. That’s because those films made them big stars and not the other way around ..Hollywood always spends big on concept films and not on stars ..Even directors like Nolan use names only for their acting prowess and not to depend on their stardom ..We all know whether it’s Oppenheimer or Odyssey , they would work as much irrespective of who’s in it

This year, a total of 143 Kannada films were released.

If #Toxic is excluded, the combined gross of all those films is approximately ₹108 crore - less than the Punjabi and Marathi film industries. Sandalwood’s average gross per film is just around ₹76 lakh. Moreover, that ₹108 crore is what just 3-4 Telugu films have collected in Karnataka this year

PVR INOX operates 219 screens across Karnataka. Without Telugu films releasing in Karnataka, 50% of these screens would shut down. Then, There wouldn’t be an industry left to call Sandalwood - except the sandalwood trees in Mysore forests
