Arctic Challenge Exercise 2023 is over. Four nations with their F-35 have learned to cooperate with fourth generation aircrafts from nine other countries. The Nordic nations have shown the capability to protect Nordic airspace.

One of Europe’s biggest air exercise, Arctic Challenge Exercise (ACE) starts monday. 2700 personnel and over 150 aircraft from 14 nations, as well as NATO AWACS, will participate in the exercise that will be on going until 9th of June.

Today, two Norwegian #F35 identified two #Russian military aircraft in int. airspace outside #Finnmark, #Norway: 2 x Ilyushin Il-38 ("May"). The F-35s conducted a standard QRA mission on behalf of @NATO, showing that we control and monitor allied areas of interest. #WeAreNATO
The Norwegian Armed Forces has sent a C-130J aircraft along with a medical team to Turkey. In cooperation with British medics, they are providing urgent care to the people injured by the tragic earthquake.🇹🇷
RNoAF is currently in Keflavik for the NATO mission Iceland Air Policing. A mission to establish air surveillance and interception coverage over Iceland and maintain the integrity of NATO airspace.

Iceland does not have its own air defence, and as a NATO country they are supported by allies with periodic air defence presence. It is now Norway's turn to guard the base at Keflavik.

Norwegian and German GBAD have been training together for the last two weeks at Chania, Crete, during the exercise Spartan Arrow. Advanced scenarios have been solved with great coorporation between the Norwegian and German forces.

Norwegian F-35s have been training side by side with American F-22s and Finnish F-18s. It has been an intensive week of high activity from Ørland air base, which has resulted in close intergratioin between the allied nations and different platforms.
