Bruce Willis acaba de enterarse de que sus enfermedades son la demencia frontotemporal (FTD) y la demencia con cuerpos de Lewy. Una de las cosas más difíciles de procesar es el cambio lento en la persona que amas. Convertirse en una persona totalmente diferente. Todo va a cambiar. Para que sepan... 😢 Se llama el largo adiós. El cerebro que se encoge rápidamente es como lo describió un médico. Cuando el cerebro del paciente muere lentamente, cambia físicamente y eventualmente olvida quiénes son sus seres queridos y se vuelven menos ellos mismos.
Los pacientes pueden quedar postrados en cama, incapaces de moverse y de comer, beber o hablar con sus seres queridos. Habrá personas que dejarán pasar este mensaje porque la demencia o el Alzheimer no los han tocado. Es posible que no sepan lo que es tener un ser querido que ha luchado o está luchando contra la demencia o el Alzheimer.
En un esfuerzo por crear conciencia sobre esta horrible enfermedad, me gustaría que al menos 5 de mis amigos pusieran esto en su línea de tiempo. Me conformaré con al menos uno.
Hagamos conciencia sobre las enfermedades mentales degenerativas!
