@FishAudio How's your audio-to-audio these days Fish? It's the one bit of AI tech, which doesn't feel like it's had genuine upgrade for years. I want to be able to act as many characters, and be able to change my voice but maintain the performance.
The anti-AI crowd yells “AI slop” at every piece of AI creative art.
Meanwhile, traditional art: 👇😂
An invisible sculpture, worth $18K .
Scribbles, worth $70 million.
A banana duct-taped to a wall, worth $6.2 million.
And somehow AI is where we suddenly need a universally agreed definition of “real art.” 😆
The truth is, art has always been weird, subjective, provocative, confusing and sometimes completely ridiculous.
AI didn’t invent that.
@OHM_plex@jennykrakovsky Yet you still had time to watch, screenshot and insult a fellow creative for daring to make something she was incredibly passionate about?
@AlexHarron@jennykrakovsky It's already a success. It's inspired many others to try and bring their creative dreams alive. It has nothing more to prove.
@OHM_plex@jennykrakovsky Erm, how about making a feature length film - single handedly?
It's like somebody building an entire house in a month, and then you coming along with your level...
I've seen this Ben Elton reincarnation before. He ambushes people on the street, who are largely unaware of the culture wars stuff but may have a vague feeling/opinion based on their experiences/social media intake... and gives them a bunch of cherrypicked facts which make any non-progressive take seem barbaric, and makes the person feel silly and wrong for thinking what they did.... even though if the bigger picture was presented, they may well stick with what they initially thought.
And this just exposes what happens when he tries to do that with somebody who knows about the subject... and what's left is a man desperately scrambling around to gain control, reducing himself to a blithering incoherent mess who despite approaching somebody to speak to them, ends the chat with 'i don't think we should hear you speak’.
I hadn't thought about using AI to help actor's in thay way... usually filming takes them away from their family for such a long time and most of their days are spent in the trailers waiting for the scene to be set up. Used in this way, AI could really help actors... and allow them to either spend more time at home, or even star in more projects per year.
It depends what your intention is. If your intention is to show off your animation skills... then yeah, using AI isn't a great idea - if you're trying to be taken seriously as an animator. However, if you're trying to show off your scriptwriting, directing or voiceover work, then yeah it absolutely makes sense to use AI to help with animation. I will never understand why artists bully/shame/gatekeep other artists from exploring ways to express themselves however they bloody well like.
