Labour has asked the Electoral Commission to investigate Nigel Farage over alleged undeclared support from George Cottrell....Interesting.

This is the same Labour Party whose own leader accepted tens of thousands of pounds in gifts and benefits, including

£20,437 accommodation from Lord Alli.
£16,200 worth of clothing.
£6,134 of clothing/support for his wife.
£2,485 for glasses.
£ thousands in hospitality, including Taylor Swift tickets, football hospitality and race meetings.

Some declarations were later amended after questions were raised. If Labour wants rigorous scrutiny of politicians' declarations, I have no objection. But that scrutiny should apply equally to everyone.

Otherwise people might think that this investigation is not about transparency but about damaging Farage before he damages Labour beyond repair at the next election.

They’ve proposed a “transformation review” in it the Civil Service could become an unelected, unaccountable, autonomous centre of power!

If these changes happen, it will mean unelected officials could ignore, frustrate or even override elected ministers through their own statutory powers or constitutional status.

It looks like Labour is trying to ensure only their agenda will ever be delivered in the UK, regardless of what party is voted into government.

Britain would have unelected quangos and bureaucrats holding power over our elected Government.
