Using data from the #ASUHeliosDecisionCenter, nearly 11,000 Arizona high school students have received letters telling them they have been accepted to attend @ASU@UArizona and/or @NAU next fall — before they officially applied. #WeBelieveHelios https://t.co/aHb7CQKsXF

The top priority in Arizona needs to ensure our kids (our AZ students) are invested and in a trajectory towards economic opportunity!
Thank you @LukeTate for grounding us in possibilities and opportunities!
The Child Tax Credit will cut child poverty in half nationwide. We are a prosperous nation and should make it permanent. The first month of tax credit payments alone reduced the portion of families without enough to eat by more than 3 percentage points.

@mattyglesias@KAErdmann Federal investment is crucial to ending the affordability crisis. State and local governments must also reduce housing cost growth by removing barriers to development: https://t.co/Wesf8h7SCm

If enacted at the time, we would have ended family homelessness by now, but this evidence-based, proven proposal was dead on arrival to the Hill: https://t.co/AwveHYOBmj
The down payment to universal housing vouchers should be ending homelessness for all families with kids. We're a rich enough nation to have a home for every child. Our 2016 plan, based on vets success, cost less than 1% of spending to subsidize homeowners: https://t.co/XtnlGKytaH
Now we must: strengthen/enforce moratorium, get $25B in rental assistance to tenants, get Congress to provide another $30B ERA & homelessness $, & work towards long-term investments to make Biden’s commitment to universal housing assistance a reality.
Universal Pre-K should be a top priority for accelerating AZ's economic growth and making it an even better place to raise kids. High ROI -- makes it easier for parents to work, and improves participants' later-life educational attainment, health, and income. It's a no brainer.
One thing that stands out to me in Arizona is Pre-K.
When I lived in Florida they have a voluntary Pre-K where every 4 year old can go to a program for free.
The state would pay for each kid for half a day, it was a great program.
Automatic stabilizers prevent struggling families from falling through the cracks and keep the economy from faltering. Should be standard practice for recovery design.
Let’s automatically adjust the length and amount of relief depending on health and economic conditions so future legislative delay doesn’t undermine the recovery and families’ access to benefits they need.
Under @BarackObama's leadership, we documented the national consequences of the local barriers to housing development that @ConorDougherty describes in Golden Gates. We also covered some solutions; biggest change since is increased need for states to act: https://t.co/BWPAnWbyYO
Here are a couple of articles that are worth reading — from housing to health, these stories use data to explore challenges we face and demonstrate how policy solutions along with civic engagement can make a real difference in people’s lives.

@just_shelter in NY Times Magazine: “A $15 minimum wage is an antidepressant. It is a sleep aid. A diet. A stress reliever. It is a contraceptive, preventing teenage pregnancy. It prevents premature death. It shields children from neglect.” https://t.co/0ZlSF0I4eS
