@btclawyerguy@intangiblecoins I'm confused, they would have to rewrite the protocol or do a forced ETH/ETC like hard fork to steal his coins? Faketoshi 2.0 ....
@L0RINC@BTC_commons I guess it just depends on whether Bitcoin wishes to remain relatively decentralised as was arguably its original intention, or something more akin to ethereum where the sheer scale and size of the blockchain means that you need massive providers like Infura in the ecosystem.
@snapolino@MarcanoFilms Hey both - just found out that Knots supports these options:
datadir=/home/me/btc-chainstate
blocksdir=/media/me/EXT_HD
So we only then need to rarely spin up our EXT_HD, except when seeding an IBD or if The Real Mr Nakamoto wants to move his coins and retire all over again!
@L0RINC@BTC_commons Everyone prune their nodes now, we will just figure out the archival chain, I mean it must be ok right so we don't even need to check it?
@JoeNakamoto@blackcoffeebtc Hi @JoeNakamoto, since you wont read @hodlonaut's articles (You're missing out but it's your loss not mine) how are you materially responding to the BIP-110 temporary softfork?
- Counter Soft-fork
- URSF
- Just hoping it goes away?
@monktoshi@YouBuyBitcoin@hodlonaut Praise-be to those with Technical Prowess, Discernment and above all TABLE FLIPPING RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION. Peace be with you brother @monktoshi
@DrJackKruse Definitely do one with Knut chap, he's got a decent following and you can get this properly out in open. @natbrunell to go the way of @TheBonnieChang.
@monktoshi@YouBuyBitcoin@hodlonaut@hodlonaut's articles are only seeing more and more visiblity.
Ironically we have all the people on Core side saying
"Don't read those hodlnaut articles because ${LIE}"
It then creates a Streissand effect that makes people read the articles.
So maybe change your strategy?
@monktoshi@YouBuyBitcoin@hodlonaut@monktoshi For real? I'm usually pretty good at spotting psy-ops, explain how this psy-op was bought about - the players, motivations for such a psy-op?
No, little Jonathan is full of shit as usual.
The new RDTS consensus rules don't apply to UTXOs created before RDTS activation. And they only apply during 52560 blocks (1 year) at activation, so at most they can put funds on autohodl, not burn them.
The only way to actually lose an UTXO to RDTS is to be an expert on Bitcoin script petulantly trying to prove a point with a contrived script that nobody will use. Normal users with normal wallets cannot lose funds.
