I'm so disappointed in @PlayStation for shutting down Bluepoint Games. After the success and the BEAUTIFUL craftsmanship of Shadow of the Colossus and Demon's Souls, YOU made them work on Live-service game...the. fuck. Now I'll never see remastered/remake of Bloodborn by them.
This discussion between a Google engineer and their conversational AI model helped cause the engineer to believe the AI is becoming sentient, kick up an internal shitstorm and get suspended from his job. And it is absolutely insane. https://t.co/hGdwXMzQpX
Now that the Teardown campaign is complete I would like to explain some of the names used in the campaign. Most names in Teardown are homages to people that somehow contributed to the algorithms and technologies that the engine is built on.
@kaynimatic Would love to see art, animation or small comic sptrips of your FF14 experience. Maybe something funny that happened in a raid, art of characters, locations art and so forth.
it would be nice to find a perfect new way for artists to stay paid but the truth is that’s not a tech problem, it’s a *capitalism* problem. if you want to make money as an artist, you have to compromise and play the capitalism game. or find time to do unrelated work on the side.
take game dev: twine? bitsy? rpgmaker? construct? even mario maker? these are exciting, welcoming, sometimes free ways to learn and explore a medium. some come with built-in communities where you can share your work. this is the tech i’m into. not, idk, NFT skins for a AAA game
everything ecological & ethical aside, nothing about NFT’s gets me excited about the “future of digital art”, sorry. they feel *constricting* and *exclusionary*, they’re built around FOMO and marketing and scheming. the tech that excites ME are TOOLS to make and share art freely.
