Someone told me I HAD to do the thing I was already planning to do, so now I canโt do the thing.
I canโt really explain why I canโt do the thing, I justโฆ canโt do the thing.
Itโs been a week and Iโm still thinking about what my 14-yo son said when I asked him how he goes about achieving success:
โDoing the bare minimum required for the result needed.โ
The boy is a straight A, top of class, scholarship student. Something important is going on here:
It's not worth risking your physical health for a job.
It's not worth risking your mental health for a job.
It's not worth risking your WELL BEING for a JOB.
Such a profit-centric world. This is one of the many reasons the holiday season feels crappy ๐ฅฒ๐ฅถ
THIS IS WHY this is why people frequent bars and not churches. If I miss church no one misses me ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ but maybe that's just my perspective.
So I go to the local bar I frequent today, haven't been in regularly in over a month or two. The bartender immediately tells me she was thinking about me and wondering if/ when I'd be back

DIFFICULT: keep telling the truth
TOO MUCH: keep taking up space
COMPLICATED: keep asking hard questions
Okay, snap stories and Facebook stories are really starting to piss me the frack off. They do not retain the formatting I put on the draft in the final, and it takes so damn long to post I don't notice it's messed up until HOURS later. UGH
