@DTSchoolSeattle advanced Span students analyzed @RealGDT’s “The Devil’s Backbone” set in the Spanish Civil war. As part of their creative project, they created board games based on the film. These are some of the most impressive games I’ve seen in 20 years of teaching.

Thanks to Jorge Gonzalez from @UWSpanPort for sharing his expertise and program to help students systematically improve and hone their pronunciation. We’ll be incorporating this material at all levels of Spanish next year.

Headed to @ACTtheatre with CjO to meet with the amazing Shana Bestock who will be working with our @DTSchoolSeattle 12th graders in their capstone performance during intensives. Love using @SeattleMonorail for the brief commute.

@DTSchoolSeattle Span 4 students are reading Skarmeta’s novel about a group of high school students during Pinochet’s regime in Chile. Each week, 3 discussion leaders lead their peers in exploring 3-5 chapters. Their analytical abilities are impressive, 100% en español!
