Honored to have met His Holiness Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican today. Congratulations to @Pontifex. I am confident that he will be a strong voice for justice and peace in the world.
In Rome today, Luxembourg paid tribute to Pope Francis.
He was a man who led by example.
He lived and worked for peace, justice and kindness for the benefit of all of humanity.
Saddened to hear of the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, a recognized worldwide moral authority.
It was an immense honor to welcome Pope Francis to Luxembourg last September.
As I said on that occasion, religions are part of society and must, in a spirit of mutual respect, contribute to enriching our debates on ethical, societal, and environmental issues. The Pope greatly contributed towards those objectives.
Our societies cannot survive without values and principles.
May He rest in peace.
It’s with utmost sadness that I’ve learned of the passing of @Pontifex While our views did not always align,we shared a deep respect for one another & each other’s perspectives. He will be remembered for his humility, his commitment to the poor&his efforts to modernize the churchXB
