Today in 1917, President Woodrow Wilson addressed Congress with a one of the most heartfelt speeches ever given by a President; to request a Declaration Of War against Germany.

I was reading my Hymnal one day and found this writing in it. It changes History. According to history The Star Spangled Banner became The National Anthem in 1931.

I step in the light
the stardust I am
I shake
I quake
I burst
I cry
I retry
dreams
are the sun
the beach
the scene
to help me in the in-between
only to find myself awoken
to the esteem that is freedom
freedom from doubt
freedom from pout
freedom from drought
all because the stars
are not to be wished upon
we are meant to play with them
as if they are sugar plum fairies
now if you can't find the strength
just bask in the darkness
like the star you are
