Quel est l'impact de la règle du "Trailing Drawdown" d'une Prop Firm sur la performance de votre système ?
J'ai joué une simulation de Monte-Carlo pour le quantifier !
🧵 Order blocks through the lens of a footprint chart.
The Order block tells you where. The footprint tells you who's inside. And who's about to get squeezed out.
I want you to understand something really important.
I've been trading since I was 16 and studying the markets since I was 13. Today I'm 37. And if I've learned anything in all this time, it's that it's not how much you win that makes the difference... it's how much you manage not to lose.
Because winning is easy. Sooner or later, everyone gets a good trade. Even by chance. Even without really knowing what they're doing.
The problem is that there always comes a time when the market catches you off guard. And that's when you see who's a trader... and who's not.
It's not the person who makes +300% once who makes the difference.
The difference is made by those who manage to stay on their feet after mistakes, after bad phases, after periods when nothing seems to work.
Because when you lose badly, you don't just lose money.
You lose your peace of mind. You lose your clarity. You lose your self-confidence. And often you also lose the desire to continue.
And then you realise that the real job is not 'making money'.
The real job is protecting what you have, so that you can still be there tomorrow, in a month, in a year.
Profit comes if you stay in the game.
If you leave the game, it's over. Even if you were winning before.
That's why I always think this way: I never start from how much I can earn, I always start from how much I can afford to lose without hurting myself. Because the market always tests you. And it doesn't ask you if you're good when everything is going well... it asks you when things are going badly.
And there, if you're still standing, you have
If you dont expect the market to make you right,
you have NO reason to be afraid of being wrong.
This is the root of trading psychology.
Don’t forget it.
HTF bias is not enough to frame a trade
if order flow and narrative don’t confirm your bias on the lower timeframes, your bias is still just a bias, not a high probability trade framework
RISK MANAGEMENT
How to never blow a prop firm challenge again ?
1) Having a statistical edge
2) Knowin your strategy's winrate
3) Determining your risk's aversion (let's assume a 0,01% probability to blow)
4) Adjust your risk/sizing accordingly
In my example, I chose a 30% winrate strategy !
As this system can lead to a disaster 26 consecutive losses, I adjust my risk per trade : it should be $76 per trade.
